Meet Team Oz - Catamaran Sailors
Rick Bliss
the owner not only travels to numerous regattas with a truck full
of parts and gear but also participates in the regattas. He has
been closely involved with catamarans for over 25 years and has
had his own catamaran business for over 14 of those years. He has
been building a large supply of inventory all these years.
Having raced in the Worrell 1000 four times and many times in the
Steeplechase, the NE 100, the Down the Bay and the Statue of Liberty
Race as well as competing in numerous other distance and buoy races
he knows what these boats can handle. He has tried out most of the
gear that he sells and can answer many questions regarding what
you might need for your comfort. Give him a call and let him assist
you. 508-339-5580 www.new-england-catamarans.com

Brandy Wood
has grown up around boats all her life, mostly sailing sunfishes
and windsurfers for fun during her summers on Cape Cod. After graduating
from Central Missouri State University with a B.S. in Graphic Arts
Management Technology, she returned to the east coast seeking employment.
In 2000 Brandy was introduced to competitive catamaran sailing in
New England during summers. She also spent the last 2 winters skippering
a Hobie 14 in the frostbite series in Newport, RI, she placed 2nd
overall in her fleet for 2003.
Brandy is currently self-employed running her own web/print design
business. She consults with a company right in downtown Newport
which makes for easy sailing. www.brand-edesign.com
We have a great
road crew as part of the team. Only 2 of them! This picture was
taken from last years Tybee 500.
Frank Keefe
(center) is an engineer, married with three college-age kids. He
owns and manages a medical records supply business in western Massachusetts.
He grew up on the South Shore of Boston spending summers in boats,
sailboats if he had a choice. During his college years he spent
summers sailing the waters of Cape Cod and the Maine coast. His
racing experience is of a very informal nature, he likes to say,
he's looking at a steep learning curve. Other hobbies include flying,
snowmobiling and wine tasting. Fun, is the bottom line for Frank.
